Holes/Cutouts/Notches
Holes:
The diameter of a hole must be equal to/greater than the thickness of the glass.
- The edge of a hole must be located a distance equal to/greater than 1.5 x the thickness of the panel, from the edge of the glass.
- A corner hole must be positioned a distance equal to/greater than 4 x the thickness of the glass, from the corner edge. The distance is increased if the corner is rounded.
- The distance between adjacent holes must be equal to/greater than 4 times the thickness of the glass.
- There is a -0/+1mm tolerance on holes up to 25mm in diameter.
- There is a positional tolerance of +/- 1.5mm on all holes.
- All holes will have a ground finish with an arris.
Cut-outs:
- All cut-outs should be discussed with our sales team before point of order.
The following rules are for toughened glass.
- The corners of rectangular cut-outs must have a radius equal to/greater than the thickness of the glass.
- The width of a cut-out cannot be greater than a third of the overall panel width.
- Larger cut-outs must be positioned a distance equal to/greater than a third of the overall width of the panel from the outside edge.
- There is a tolerance on cut-outs of -0/+2mm.
- There is a positional tolerance of +/2mm for all cut-outs.
- All cut-outs will have a ground finish with an arris.
Notches:
- All notches should be discussed with our sales team before point of order.
The following rules are for toughened glass.
- Internal corners of notches must have a minimum radius equal to/greater than the thickness of the glass.
- The width of a notch must be no greater than a third of the overall width of the panel.
